This painting is one of the most famous in the world. Painted by Rembrandt van Rijn between 1639 and 1642 and displayed permanently at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The painting depicts the eponymous company moving out, led by Captain Frans Banninck Cocq, who had the task to ensure the safety of the republic.
